Splurge Dinner @ Rome

6th May was my first day in Rome. After an amazing day of exploring the ruins that I’ve heard so much about, we were famished!

Our first dinner in Rome, we walked about till we found something that looked good. I can’t remember the restaurant name but it’s just off Termini.

Here’s what we had.

Duckie had Lasagna. My god it was good but DAMN FILLING – that’s why I hate Lasagna. Hahaha! I know I am contradicting myself. The little mint leaf on top, well we wanted to dump that but the waiter pressed us to try it with the lasagna – and it was good! Refreshing mint combined with the flavour of tomato and meat. Good! Duckie doesn’t even like tomato and pasta – don’t ask me why on earth he ordered this.

EURO 8 aka SGD 24 aka RM 50 (estimated amounts).

Zis is ze Seafood Risotto. I read a lot about Risottos online and I have no idea what it was! Everything in Italy is of course Italian and so, well, I took the risk and ordered it! When it came, I was surprised. i mean, I didn’t expect rice in Italian cuisine. Rice?! It was so-so. Not fantastic. I don’t even eat Mussels. So Duckie enjoyed himself. -_-”

EUR 10 aka SGD 30 aka RM 65 (estimated amounts).

We ordered this sauteed eggplant with olive oil to share. I think it was overpriced but it has to be the best dish of the 3 we ordered.

EUR 4 aka SGD 12 aka RM 25 (estimated amounts).

Of course in Italy, the cost doesn’t end there. In addition to the above costs, we had the following added on:
1) Wine X 2 @ EUR 4 each
2) Bread Stick @ EUR 3
3) Service charge @ EUR 3

TOTAL BILL was EUR 37 aka SGD 111 aka RM 255.30

*faints* Now then I know how much I spent on this meal. OMIGAWSH!

I’m a happy broke girl! =)!

P.s.: But I’ll never go back. Food is better and cheaper eslewhere!
