Brunch at Wild Honey

I must be one of the few people left in Singapore who hasn’t tried one of those all-day breakfast dining places. I kept having this misconception that all I can order is a plateful or eggs done in method A or B or C or, you get the drift.

I kept thinking it’s all about EGGS, and some bacon maybe and some toast maybe.

But everybody STILL kept going on and on about how awesome it is, how it is a must-try… so then, fine, one fine Saturday, the BF and I headed over to Wild Honey at Mandarin Gallery.

It was about 1.30pm and we were asked to wait 30 mins. Thank goodness they allowed us to leave our number with them and could go walk around. You know how there are some restros that make you stand there and queue!!

The menu was humongous. It was a lot to take in all at the same time. Whoever knew breakfast could be of such a HUGE variety. They had everything! Savory, sweet, sausages, eggs, salmon, chicken, salad, oh my, they had so many things to choose from!

The BF ordered the Norwegian Breakfast Set. I don’t know why he has this kickass knack for ordering the good stuff even though he does it randomly. Don’t tell him I told you this.

The Norwegian (S$26):

Avocado, grilled asparagus spears, two perfectly poached eggs wrapped with imported Norwegian smoked salmon, homemade Hollandaise & salmon pearls on our own whole-wheat brioche.

It was super super nice. The avocado and asparagus gave such a great taste and texture to this whole setup. The brioche soaked up all the sauce and egg yolk – heavenly. The salmon pearls are such a surprise – it bursts in your mouth with a joyful “pop”. I definitely would come back again for this.

The Char grilled Chicken sandwich (S$16):

Caramalezied onions, rocket, tomato and grain mustard mayonnaise on grilled ciabatta.

I LOVED this as well! Though I do like the Norwegian one more. I loved how nicely grilled the ciabatta bread was. It was crunchy at the sides and has great texture overall. I took out all the onions cos I don’t like them. The tomatos were sweet, the rocket was a tad bitter and the chicken was lovely. The end result was yummy sandwich that really exceeded my expectations!

Most Popular Dishes at Wild Honey are “The English”, “The European” and “The Tunisan”. Be sure to try them! :)

The only thing that shocked me was how expensive it was! The two of us ordered a total of 2 sets, and 2 drinks and the bill came up to be about $70! That is in my opinion quite expensive! o.O

The bad thing is, I really want to come here again this coming weekend for brunch! O.O!
