Without special attention to skin preparation and application, makeup is not likely to stay in place when temperatures are high and humid.

Here are some ways that you’ll find useful to keeping your makeup intact:

#1: Moisturise Well

When it comes to beating the heat, it’s especially important for skin to stay properly hydrated. I prefer lightweight mositurisers that are oil free and finish off matt (if possible).

Vichy’s Tri-Activ Moisturiser is oil-free and finishes off matt. PErfect for my oily skin but if you have dry skin, you want to ensure yo

#2: Use Primers

Primers are literally the bomb. Apply a makeup primer onto your face to help keep your makeup in place. Smooth it into your skin thoroughly before applying foundation. Same applies with the use of eye primers before applying eye shadows. Make sure to dab some on your bottom eyelid as well if you are going to be applying eye makeup there too.

Primers usually contain silicone and that acts as a barrier between heat and your skin. Be sure to remove your makeup well thereafter.

#3: Oil Blotters

Use oil absorbent sheets. I like Gatsby’s oil control paper. They soak my oil up and keep them well at bay. I also alternate with the powdered version from Gatsby.

#4: Set & Refresh

Get yourself a good facial spritz. I use facial sprays to set makeup as well as for a mid-day perk me up. I tried Vichy and Bio Essence and somehow, I find Bio Essence one better suited for my skin. Try and see what suits you.
