Spending Time With Daniel

As a full time working mom, I don’t get a lot of time with my little one. And it makes me feel bad. I even calculated once, how many hours I really get with Daniel on a weekday.

When I leave in the morning for work, he hasn’t woken up and when I get home at like 8pm, he sleeps at 12mn. We only have about 4 hours to hang over every weekday. :(

So weekends are all the more precious. We spend our weekends carefully. Often, we bring him out on nature walks around our neighbourhood. While we’re all very modern nowadays, I felt it was important for him to move away from TV, internet, iPads, iPhones, etc and just go out there and enjoy nature.

We sometimes kick a can like a football and he’ll chase us round and round or scream in delight.

Other times we’ll just watch him pick up dried leaves (and try not to panic at the amount of bacteria), and drag twigs around. The things he pick up and touch all have different textures, colours and shapes.

We’ll always come back all sweaty but happy.

Through cherished moments like these, I see my child’s slowly revealing character. He has a desire to explore and enjoy his surroundings. He laughs easily, and enjoys himself wholeheartedly. :)

I’m sure every mommy and daddy has loads of cherished moments with their little ones. If you don’t, make sure you spend more time with them! :)

Friso wishes to celebrate and encourage the special moments that parents share with their children. In the midst of our own busy lives, we often forget the love and attention our little ones need from us. So, let us participate in this campaign and inspire more families to cherish family bonding.

There are only 52 weekends in a year. For full time working mom like me, it’s family-first every weekend! :) #FrisoMoment
