Ryoshi Sushi Ikeikemaru at Liang Court

If you’re looking for some very fresh sushi that doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket, then you must check out Ryoshi Sushi Ikeikemaru at Liang Court B1. Personally, I’ve never heard of this place until Peter passed by the other day and noticed a HUGE crowd queuing up for dinner.

You know how Singapore works. Long q = something good, well, worth checking out at least. So this Vesak Day when the both of us were ready for dinner at 6pm, we decided to make a special trip there, hoping to avoid the dinner crowd and we did! We got a seat within 5 mins. 🙂

Ryoshi Sushi Ikeikemaru is super popular with diners looking for fresh and good Sushi at very affordable prices. How affordable you ask? Well, the bulk of their sushi menu costs only $1.80, $2.80 and $3.80! Of course there are more premium ones too but the bulk of it is less than $3.80!!

Choose from picking sushi plates off the sushi conveyor belt or order the dishes you want ala carte! Ryoshi Sushi Ikeikemaru has fresh ingredients shipped in directly from Japan twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). We were coincidentally there on a Tuesday and enjoyed some really fresh sushi. Here’s what we had:

We ate a lot! For the 2 of us, the bill was about $73+.

Here’s what I loved:
– You don’t often such a good proportion of rice to sashimi. You know how too many places always have a huge chunk of cold, hard rice to a thin slice of badly positioned sashimi? At Ryoshi Sushi Ikeikemaru, there was significantly less rice compared to what you would usually expect, and it was good!
– The seaweed of those freshly made sushi is so fresh and crunchy. I forgot sushi can taste this good with crunchy seaweed!
– The sashimi platter ($20) was SUPERB and a must-order. The selection of sashimi is determined by the chef and what we got that day was stellar. The large scallop sashimi was perfection. It wasn’t like anything I have tasted before. Scallop sashimis usually taste gross in my opinion but this was sweet like Salmon sashimi. <3

I would totally return again! 🙂
