Reveur Haircare is Silicone-Free!

Rêveur is a wildly popular brand in Japan’s haircare industry, especially famous for their silicone-free haircare line and ideology that quality haircare products should be made affordable and enjoyed by the mass market.

Holding the No.1 title in the non-silicone haircare industry, Rêveur aspires to let its haircare line be recognized as a “beauty product” that assists women in their pursuit of beauty. With this goal in mind, Rêveur has already won over 8 awards and hit the jaw-dropping mark of 50 million bottles sold in a mere span of 2 years.

The Rêveur brand now has the Rich & Repair and Moist & Gloss ranges available in Singapore. Today I review the Moist & Gloss shampoo & conditioner.

The Moist & Gloss range overflows with natural ingredients like Jojoba Seed Oil, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter and Babassu Oil. It moisturizes and repairs hair from within, leaving us with crowns of soft, glossy and healthy hair.

My review:

What I like about Rêveur: There was an immediate difference in my hair. My hair felt lighter and looks more straight and smooth. The shampoo smells really nice and the packaging is kickass!! LOVE the unique purple. My air was a little “tangled” after washing (as my hair usually is) with shampoo but after I put on the conditioner, my hair was immediately smoothened, even after my hair is dried.

I also really like the fact that this is silicon-free. There is a brand (I won’t mention here) that I use all the time and I heard that it’s bad for my hair in the long run because of the excessive amount of silicon present in it’s ingredients. But I can’t stop using it bottle after bottle because it makes my hair soft and manageable.

What I don’t: It doesn’t bubble much (and this is their key selling point), so it kept feeling like I had to use a little more to wash all my hair. I really am a fan of shampoo that foams crazily. :(

Why use Silicone-free: Everytime you wash your hair with a shampoo that has silicone, the coating of the silicone on your hair will build up and make it harder to get it out of your hair. They coat the hair shaft, seal out moisture and prevent any other treatment products to ever penetrate your hair. Using silicones will make your hair look good for a while, but eventually the result of silicone buildup is flat, dull, dry (and sometimes frizzy) hair.

Silicones can also lead to hair loss, extremely dry and itchy scalp and cancer. :( So I would recommend that you go for silicone-free shampoo if possible.
