Randomly Strawberry

I have this love-hate relationship with Strawberries.

Sometimes they can be extremely big, juicy and sweet, but from this part of the world, more often than not, we get the tiny sour ones. And at a brow raising price as well!

The other day, some time ago, my colleague bought a box of strawberries and …

… MAN WAS IT BIG! No HUGE! No… GIGANTIC! HUMONGOUS!

And it was the BEST strawberry I ever tasted in my life. There were say 15 such strawberries in a box and it cost $10.

I decided it was well worth the money and went back to buy some to bring home. The prices went from $10 (1st time I bought) to $12. I didn’t buy because how could the same thing go up by $2 just within a week! 1 week later I went back again in hope of bringing back the yummy strawberries again and the owner said they’re not selling anymore. Apparently their supplier prices went up quite a bit and for them to even earn a small bit, they had to sell it at $15 per box. So?

End of story – he doesn’t sell anymore. DAMMIT!

I don’t know why only this guy’s strawberries taste so good while those at the supermarket are so yucky! The brand’s the same – Driscoll’s, the only thing is the size’s different.

Sigh, there goes another fondness of mine.
