I actually think this is pretty good. The floss made it very hard to take clean bites but the mayonnaise made the whole sandwich very tasty. Great balance of vegetables and meat too. What I love about this is the warm bread. It was crunchy and made taking bite after bite of it, irresistible.

#2: Banh Mi Huynh Hoa (Bánh Mì Huỳnh Hoa)
Address: 26 Lê Thị Riêng, Bến Thành, 1, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
Open hours: Opened only in evenings from 4pm onwards

Pricier than the previous one but I’m going to go ahead and call this THE BEST BANH MI IN SAIGON. It really is. I don’t know what meat they put in there but it was delicious!! It was packed full of meat and light on the vegetables. I wish the bread was toasted warm when I got it but the filling more than made up for it.

There was a short queue with lots of locals on motorbikes when I was there at about 6pm. It must be good really if there are so many locals.

#3: Banh Mi 37 Nguyen Trai (Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng Hẻm 39)
Address: 37 Nguyễn Trãi, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Open hours: 5pm onwards

I was drawn to this by the bbq’ing of the meat right beside the stall. The meat was a little too heavily seasoned but it was served piping hot and fresh off the grill and right into my well toasted french loaf. While I found the meat a little too salty, the serving of pickled vegetables inside the bread was delicious.
