Low-Carb Way of Life

This is what I’ve been eating lately:

1. Broiled Salmon with Steamed Broccoli
2. Broiled Salmon with Mushrooms and Salad
3. Low-Carb, Wholemeal Tortilla Wrapped with Low-Fat Tuna Mayo
4. Clear Fish Soup
5. A lot of Pacific Rose Apples (they are really quite satisfying!)
6. Steamed Broccoli, Cauliflower and Beans topped with a bit of Butter
7. Mushroom Omelettes (omg these are very nice!)
8. Everything Omelettes (anything I need to clear from the fridge, I put them in my eggs. Yummy!)
9. Fruit salad (this is pricey and unsuitable if you are like me, feeding only yourself)
10. Chicken Chop
11. Steamed Chicken
12. Roast Chicken Salad
13. Red Fleshed Dragon Fruit (these that I buy from Larkin’s pasar tani are SO GOOD and so cheap. They are very filling too!)
Contrary to what others may think, I am hardly starving. Hardly. In fact, I’ve been eating quite well! I don’t know how long I can last in this diet but it’s great to know that I don’t crave for rice, noodle or chocolate anymore. Especially chocolate. I used to eat chocolate at least once everyday – that’s a lot!
Things I’ve been allowing myself to indulge in:
1. Lim Chee Guan’s Bak Kwa (BBQ pork)
2. Durians (High in Carbs, but good carbs and has a lot of other great vitamins)
3. BBQ meat
4. Wantons (the skin is full of bad carbs)
5. Fried Chicken Wings
6. Thin-crust pizzas
Before I go for work, I prepare my breakfast and lunch. A recently discovered miracle called “Microwave cooking” made it all possible. Gosh I can’t believe I can steam vegetables and cook eggs in Microwaves. Did you know? Am I the last person on earth to know?
I brought a special tupperware for cooking in the microwave and I have a completely new and strong interest in steaming vegetables all over again!
No need to wash the damn steamer before cooking, no need to wash the damn steamer after cooking, no need to wait for the water in the steamer to cook… The plus points of this are countless!
I can’t wait to go and buy some broccoli and cauliflower now. I love them! =) I am so grateful that I love broccoli. Otherwise, what will I eat?!
I haven’t tried cooking egg in the microwave yet but I shall soon. If I succeed, WOAH. Just imagine, no need to use oil to cook, very minimal washup too! What’s not to love?!
I must be fitting very nicely into the young executive, no time to cook, not married, career-minded, willing to splurge kind of target group now. Maybe the tupperware maids should come invite me to their tupperware parties now! Haha
Oh ya, my weight is still slowly but steadily going down. I keep an excel sheet of my weight and I’m happy with the progress! =) Of course I wish it could be faster but I must remember that I am losing weight I gained over 4 years.
So far, a grand total of 3KG! It’s not a lot but I guess my stupid muscles are getting heavier as well, with the more frequent trips to the gym.
