Light Sheer Duet – Laser Hair Removal

So I posted this teaser pic on my Facebook page yesterday. Did you manage to guess what it is correctly?

No, it’s not a scanner, nor a bicycle light, or vacuum cleaner!! Haha love how creative my readers are. :) Anyway, the correct answer is waiting in this post!

Let’s talk about laser hair removal today. This is a popular solution for unwanted body hair for most girls (some go for waxing but omg ouch!).

Lumenis, was the first to discover ground breaking IPL (I’m sure you’ve heard of IPL?). Over 10 years of research and improvements, they recently launched a new technology called Light Sheer Duet (the fastest, painless Hair Removal Technology).

Light Sheer Duet is an amazing technology for hair removal. If you’re someone who go for or are looking for hair removal options, this is definitely something of note!

And I decided to try it the latest in laser hair removal – Brazilian style. Brave or not, you can decide for yourself after this post.

There are many benefits to this treatment which appeal to me like:

♦ Whole Brazilian area took only 5 mins. And the doctor went over the whole area twice too.
♦ Hair removal of large areas such as the full legs or back takes only 20 minutes.
♦ No need for numbing or cold gels used – that’s 45 mins of waiting time saved!
♦ Hair will be permanently removed within 6-8 treatments.

Now that’s saying a lot since my last brazilian IPL at another place took about 40 mins and after 4 treatments (at irregular timings though), hair at the brazilian area is still not showing signs of letting up.

My experience:

This is the Light Sheer Duet machine.

It comes with heaps of settings that can be adjusted to suit your comfort level.

This is the special device that is used during the treatment. LightSheer Duet uses the vacuum assist technology to gently pull and stretch the skin before applying the laser energy. The suction reduces pain commonly associated with laser hair removal.

See the rectangle area here is where your skin will be sucked inwards, nearer to where energy will be released. The larger treatment heads means it can relatively cover more area quickly.

Here’s a video I found! :)

I won’t say it’s completely painless but I would say that it is bearable. I did the brazilian which means a lot of the area that is covered in the laser treatment is very very sensitive. If this is for the underarm, I believe it would be as good as painless. For more sensitive areas, there is definitely a sting but after 15 mins or so, I soon forgot all about it. If pain can be forgotten, then it shall be defined as bearable.

I tried Brazilian waxing before and I don’t think I’ll be going back there to do it again any time soon!

There are still several treatments needed to get all the unwanted hair removed. As you know, hair grows in cycles and the lasers only treat what’s on top of the skin, so it will take a few visits to get it all. Can’t wait for the next one in 6-8 weeks!

There is no downtime. You do need to stay out of the sun, and avoid alcohol for the day of treatment as the skin is very sensitive.

Happy to have gotten this treatment! :D

**Promotion**

Each treatment costs S$680. The doctor estimates about 4-6 treatments for permanent hair removal. That’s not a lot compared to IPL treatments and waxing.

TRIAL PRICE: You can try this for $150 for the first time. Cos we all know paying $680 for each session without first trying is a little too risky.

Subsequently, if you think it’s good and want to continue, you can sign on a package of 5 more times within 30 days of your first treatment AND your first treatment charge will be waived and you only need to top up $2,350 for the other 5 treatments (abt $392 per session).

If it’s more than 30 days, then you have to top up $2,500 ($442 per session), still cheaper than the usual price of $680 per session! :)

That’s a really good deal. PM me on Facebook for more details! :)
