Las Vegas – San Francisco – Los Angeles Hotels

I started off my year with a great adventure to the United States. Here are the reviews of the hotels I stayed in these 3 respective cities:

Comfortable and fuss-free. I stayed in Tower II which is quite a long walk from the taxi stand (main entrance). It is also at the end of the South end of the Strip (opposite Luxor & New York New York) which means it’s peaceful at night. Hardly see rowdy people on the streets. To get to the strip is a easily accessible overhead bridge to New York New York. :)

Came here during the cold season so I didn’t get to check out the pool. Lost a lot of money at the Casino Slots too! Damn those slots. Haha!

2) San Francisco

I strongly recommend this inn if you are coming by San Francisco. It’s such a gem! The locaion is extremely good, only a couple of blocks away from Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf and about 3 blocks away from Little Italy where there are heaps of good food. The front desk guy (morning shift) was really helpful with directions, tips and booking of tours. The evening front desk guy was a little grouchy and I didn’t like him very much. I actually called him from the airport to ask how to get to the hotel (cos there were so many unlabelled shared shuttles) and he hung up on me the first time after saying hello and mumbling something. The second time I called again, he said he is busy and asked me to call back again. WTF. I was using roaming to call him!! Bleah. But other than him, the whole stay was awesome possum. :)

3) Los Angeles

Hotel Name: Metro Plaza Hotel
Cost: USD 297 + Taxes & Fees USD 41.97 = USD338.97
Avg. Cost Per Night: USD 112.99
Duration: 3 nights

I chose this hotel cos I didn’t want to drag my luggage all over Los Angeles nor did I want to take a cab cos LA is mega big and taxis weren’t exactly going to be cheap. So I booked the Metro Plaza Hotel which was within walking distance of the Union Station (where the FlyAway dropped me off). Perfect!

The hotel has a very stale smell along the corridors and in the toilet. The room was adequate. Had no problems sleeping, had plenty of hot water and wifi worked well. The service was shit. The front desk people were made up all these weird people who were anything but customer oriented.

There was this Filipino guy who was grouchy and impatient when I asked questions (evening shift). And the morning shift had this china lady who scolded her staff loudly in front of all the hotel guests. Don’t know what’s going on. They also served adequate breakfast of bagels, bread, muffins, apple juice, orange juice, and apples.
