Review: Hada Labo Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion

Hada Labo Lotion is one of the best-selling skincare products in Japan, famous for its hydrating properties with its Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion selling one bottle every 4 seconds! I have previously reviewed this product here and I’m still happily using it!

Recently, Hada Labo has launched a new Retinol Lifting + Firming Lotion (S$25.90 / 170ml) that contains 3 premium ingredients:

Retinol Vitamin A – to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles;
Collagen – to help improve skin elasticity; and decrease the degree and amount of wrinkles.
Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) – to help lock in moisture for intense hydration. It is capable of penetrating the skin, hydrating it and at the same time locking in moisture.

All these ingredients works together to restore youthful bounciness for your skin. ^^

Ok hang on, before we go on, LOTION here, is actually what we refer to more ocmmonly as toners. The japanese call their toners, lotions. And instead of applying with cotton pads, you just simply pour out a small amount onto your palm and pat it onto your face till it absorbs into the skin. The patting is supposed to activate your skins’ cells

The texture is thicker than the hydrating lotion, but equally as hydrating

What’s so SPECIAL about SHA?
Hyaluronic Acid helps improve the moisture retention of skin. For 1g of Hyaluronic Acid, it could hold 6L of liquid. With sufficient Hyaluronic Acid, your skin looks moistened, soft and supple!

My review:
The texture of this lotion is thick and sticky. But once you pat it on, it soon disappears into your skin. And I love the price. It’s very affordable at only $25.90 for quite a big bottle.

Once I put it on at night before I sleep, I feel my skin packed with moisture the next morning. :D However the funny thing is, if I use it during the day, it makes my face a little oily towards the end of the day.

All in all, I think that this is quite a suitable toner for women in their mid 20’s and are looking to start anti-aging routine early on! :) Besides, with a fanbase of over 19,000 fans on their facebook account (more fans than so many bigger brands in SG), something is really good about them :)

Psst: You’ll be glad to know that Hada Labo does not use additives, colorants, alcohol, fragrances or mineral oils in their products :D
