Daniel at 4 months

My boy’s 4 months old now! Time flies!!

I’ve been back at work for a month now and I’m definitely adjusted back to a hectic work pace. I am loving all the new clothes I have and my new body. Yes! I have gotten back to what I was before and me thinks I might possibly be in better shape than before! This is of course possible only because of all the slimming treatments that I’ve been going for.

Daniel’s been developing super well. He has been trying very hard to flip over, and getting cutely frustrated while trying to do so! No such luck yet! We’ve been keeping a close watch on him! He has also started to be a whole lot stronger with his limbs. He loves jumping up and down on our laps a whole lot. He can go on all day! Our arms ache though!

He is also trying to sit up whenever we put him down. Of course he can’t get up on his own yet but he tries to push himself up. It’s all very cute to watch.

He is also making a whole lot of babies noises, squealing at the top of his lungs and crying really loudly when he does cry. Still he doesn’t cry as often as I imagine other babies do.

The most rewarding development this month would definitely be his willingness to smile. He smiles quite often now and it is such a joy to see him smile back at us! It’s super easy to make him smile too! All we have to do is smile at him and he’ll smile right back! :)

We have also started co-sleeping. It’s just really way easier to care for him at night. He generally sleeps through the night now (thank heavens) but there are times when he just wants to nurse a little in the middle of the night and goes back to sleep soon after. I feel so guilty about spending so much time away from him during the day and it’s nice to have him snuggled beside me in the crook of my arm all through the night.

He went for another round of vaccinations this month and since I couldn’t make it, Daddy had to bring Daniel there with our helper. Peter was so naive in thinking the Polyclinic visit would be quick and he didn’t bring extra milk out! Thank goodness the little hub didn’t cry for milk and was just cool to wait till they got home before filling his little tummy. Poor boy cried from his 2 injections and 1 oral feed. In other news, the doctor checked him and Daniel can now fixate on moving objects and everything else is in order :)

I’ve been late for work a lot now, mostly due to Daniel looking so darn cute in the mornings. I spend a little extra time here and there showeing him with kisses and taking forever to say bye. He wakes every day with the sweetest smile ever.

And first hair cut ever! We’ve been holding back the dreaded shave because besides tradition, shaving his head at 1 month apparently has no impact on the state of his hair. But at 4 months old, he has been losing a lot of hair. Haha! It’s cute really, he has bald patches here and there now and we thought we’ll just get his head shaved. We went to Baby Spa at Serangoon NEX, paid $18 and he was done within 10mins. We are so not used to his bald head!!!

On the breastfeeding front, I’ve been carrying this large bag of my red date tea, medela pump, pump heads and medela bottles with me to work everyday. If you are interested, I do wash the pump heads in between pumps and rinse with hot water before I use it again later the same day. I do have a nursing room in the office (thank goodness!!) and it really does make a whole lot of difference towards helping me breastfeed Daniel for as long as possible. I started off week one at work pumping twice a day but somehow… It dwindled down to only once a day :(

The little one is a great drinker and drinks 120~150ml per 3 hours now. :) For now, he is only consuming the milk that I pump diligently everyday. No need to reach into the frozen stash yet!

Gambate! I’m looking forward to the next month with Baby Daniel! :)
