PADI Open Water Course at Mabul Island

I’m at Mabul Island, West Malaysia now taking my PADI Open Water Dive Certification. Arrived at 8am this morning to Uncle Chang’s “resort” and was shuffled off for check in and breakfast. The room assigned to us costed RM90 per person for a twin-sharing room and all meals included. Today’s day one of my lifelong diving adventure. As I walked the little aisles of Uncle Chang’s lodge on Mabul Island, I saw a huge turtle swimming by in very shallow…

Hello Sipadan

In the past 3 months, it seems like I let go of a different lifetime that I lived in and then stumbled onto a new life in which I find happiness and… contentment. Who knows how long this feeling will last but this is not a post to contemplate the what ifs. So I went to Bali earlier this year (which ok, fine is not too long ago and only just in end Jan), where it felt like I set…

Excited to be going away for awhile

Been awhile since I had business to attend to in KL, Malaysia. Glad to be going back for the weekend. When I come back, it’ll be the real test. The real beginning of what it means to be independently dependent on myself. These days I’m quite the confused soul. What am I doing? What am I feeling? Why am I doing the things I am doing? But I know time will sort things out for me. I’ll find my way.…

Chengdu Day 1 of 7

I got gazillion amounts of photos of my past travels to post but since I just got back from Chengdu, I shall ride on my enthusiasm and embark on this. Definitely with intention to complete all 7 days. Yes sire. It was a tiring flight to Chengdu. I took Air Asia X from LCCT (Kuala Lumpur) and flew to Chengdu. Someone told me before. The cheapest is the airline I hate the most – Tiger Airways. $27.50 nett 1 way. I have something on in the morning of the…

Ipoh Part 2

Ok I know I have procrastinated enough. Are you guys thinking, “how does she decide when is enough?” Haha I really try never to push my “enough”. But well. Anyhow, look what I came back with from IPOH! My host was very nice to be determined to make sure we actually did “experience” Ipoh by eating as much as all the three-thumbs up food Ipoh has to offer. What’s a trip to Ipoh without White Coffee? The coffee was really…

Ipoh Part 1

(With thanks to my host, KL, whose enthusiasm in bringing us round to savour the best of Ipoh food brought on 3KG to my already shocking weight.) Well, here comes 3KG worth of yummy food: We had dinner at this “food court” named Restoran Kam Wan (Aneka Selera) or known as Gourmet Square. Gourmet Square is at Ipoh Garden and it’s home to all kinds of yummy food!! They have Laksa, Popiah, Claypot Chicken Rice, Fried Noodle, Char Kway Teow,…

Salmon Steak @ Subang!

Location: 55A Jalan SS15 Subang Jaya (opposite Taylor’s Business School) This one of the few places I always frequent in KL. Am quite sick of the same few places already so next time I go, you-know-who-you-are all please bring me somewhere new ‘kay! Salmon Steak Restaurant – Great for “Pok-Kai” days because its really cheap western food for not bad quality (if you know what to order)! :) This is what we had: Salmon Steak – RM13It was a bit…
