Have a hankering for some pies?

If you’re a fan of eating pies like I am, there’s a newbie pie place you should check out! Pie Face, the world’s largest pie chain, has finally arrived in Singapore. They are the leading micro-bakery cafe in Australia with more than 80 stores around the world. They have recently opened up 2 new branches in Singapore (313@Somerset basement and Bugis Village (near Burger King)) and the aussie husband and I spent a Friday evening getting ourselves stuffed with pies.…

A Lunch Escapade at Buona Terra

I recently found a lovely quiet enclave that’s nestled along the row of colonial buildings along Scotts Road. Buona Terra is a contemporary, fine-dining Italian restaurant that promises a novel selection of luscious, artfully-prepared cuisine in a dining haven of serenity for any special occasion. Starting 1 December 2014, they have launched their new lunch service. Priced at $38++ per person, you can expect to indulge in a taste of Northern Italy with the 3 course lunch menu by Chef Denis…

Cantonese Classics with a Local Twist at SIFU

Peter and I went to the newly opened cantonese bistro at Bugis Junction recently for dinner. SIFU is where the previous MOS Burger was. The new SIFU aims to challenge the boundaries of casual dining, elevating the quick-serve concept into a comfortable and chic sit-down café experience for customers to enjoy. SIFU serves up their version of Cantonese classics with a local twist. There are some quite good dishes here that I’d come back for. This place is great for…

A Friday at SYNC Korean Tapas Bar

It’s been awhile since the husband and I went out for a meal on Friday night after work. We always strive to go to somewhere new to try new food and last Friday’s choice was this interesting Korean Tapas Bar who just opened their 2nd outlet at Serangoon Gardens (1st outlet is at Westgate). As the seemingly never-ending Korean wave takes over Singapore (not that I am complaining, I do love a lot of things korean), SYNC would be the…

Fantastic Dumplings at Jing Hua Xiao Chi @ Neil Road

Jing Hua is a homegrown brand in Singapore that serves up some very good Shanghai cuisine located along Neil Road. This place has been at the same located, and in good business for the past 25 years! Their recipes are passed on through 2 generations. 25 years later, the place is now run by the eldest son of the Han Family, Guo Guang. I went down for a food tasting session. I can’t believe I never knew about Jing Hua before…

Zespri 14 Day Challenge

I’ve recently embarked on a Zespri®’s 14-Day Daily Scoop of Amazing Challenge. During this 14 days, I am required to eat one Zespri Kiwi and see how different I feel after 14 days. Personally I really love kiwi especially the yellow ones. The green ones are sometimes sour if you don’t get them in the good season but when they are good, they are sweet and tangy. The yellow ones are however sweet most all the time. :) Check out the top…

Tim Ho Wan Opens Their 5th Outlet at Aperia Lavender

Tim Ho Wan is taking Singapore by storm! Very quickly since it’s first outlet opened at Plaza Singapura, today I attended the media food tasting for their 5th outlet at Aperia Lavender. Aperia Lavender is a new shopping mall that is still extremely empty at the moment. It is directly in front of Pico Building, walkable about 5 mins from Lavender MRT station. There are 3 special new dishes exclusively available at Tim Ho Wan’s brand at Aperia Lavender. #1:…

Momiji Shabu Shabu Buffet @ Shaw Balestier

The newly established Momiji Shabu Shabu has opened its doors at Shaw Balestier. It is Singapore’s first-ever collagen hotpot buffet! Peter and I tried it the other day when they just opened and omg it was VERY GOOD! Here’s how the collagen looks like when the hotpot is not heated up yet. The divine soup base is made of collagen pudding, which is the culmination of six hours of simmering kampong chicken. Such long hours of simmering ensures that the chicken bones…
