Casio EXILIM makes the best selfie cameras I swear. I was drawn to their whole selfie camera range from TR150 till their newly launched one, the Casio EXILIM EX TR60. It comes with many improvements from its predecessor models. All of which are exactly what people want from selfie cameras. Here’s a TR60 review!
#1: Enhanced Make-Up Technology
I am tanner than most girls and, like most girls, I do want to look fairer too. The Casio Exilim EX-TR60 takes care of that. See above 3 photos. The middle is how I’d usually look but I can opt to adjust to make my skin look fairer or tanner. I LOVE IT. It looks so natural too!! I could just post any one of the 3 photos and you wouldn’t be able to tell which is my natural skin colour!
I used the “Bracketing” mode which captures 3 images with different skin tones – 2 levels fairer and 2 levels tanner.
I can’t stop taking selfies with this!! It really makes me look so perfect on camera. The other thing I like about the super enhanced beauty mode, quite unlike any other camera in the market, the beauty mode is very smart.
The picture is very very clear. Look at the strands of my hair and eyebrows, all of them remain clear while my skin is even and smooth. In picture above, all I have is lipstick on. That’s how amazing the camera is.
Now I am unafraid to take selfies even when my face is oily and I have no makeup on. :)
#2: Selfie Pad + Selfie Art Function
Featuring an intuitive Selfie Pad, you can toggle between various functions such as zooming or the new Selfie Art mode just by moving a finger along the frame, without having to view the main menu.
In this picture above, you’ll see the art mode is activated for selection. The Selfie Pad is inbuilt into the frame of the camera, near where the shutter is. Super easy to reach and use. There’s 6 art filter effects in the Selfie Art Mode for you to choose from:
– “High Key” results in a natural lighting effect
– “Foggy” gives a softer ambience
– “Fairy” accentuates feminine facial feature
– “Nostalgia” evokes a sentimental mood
– “Vivid” brightens photos My favourite mode! :)
– “Square” which automatically adjusts image ratio to easily share on social media
#3: Bluetooth Smart Technology
With the Casio EXILIM EX-TR60, take all the photos you want and all your images are automatically transferred to your smartphone through bluetooth. All you need to do is just download the Exilim Connect app. Needless to say, once the photo is in your phone, the world is your oyster!! :D I love how easy it is to share between camera and phone, without the need for internet. :)
You can also opt to select only photos you want onto your camera instead of transferring everything!
#4: Self Timer
This is not a new feature but I just wanted to highlight how much I love using the timer. It is soooo easy to use. All I have to do is just touch the timer icon then drag it on the “white bar” that you see below to the preferred timer duration (up to 10s), then let go and the countdown begins immediately! Super fuss free.
And with that, I have been able to take so many flawless selfies effortlessly!! I don’t even need to edit much of the photos I take!! <3 Now that’s a time saver and a worthy investment.
Btw, stay tuned to my Instagram (@ngjuann) for more selfies taken with the Casio EXILIM EX-TR60!
Casio EXILIM EX-TR60 is made in Japan and is available in Singapore at S$1,299 in four new pastel colours (Green, Pink, Violet and Gold) from 27 April 2015 at selected Casio authorised retailers such as Best Denki and Harvey Norman. It is pricey but oh so worth it if you want your photos looking all pretty without any photoshop!!!
