Botox & Fillers in Singapore: Tried it & love it!

I’m so happy with the botox and fillers in Singapore with Dr Terence Tan at Halley Medical Aesthetics! It’s been 2 months and I’m loving the natural looking effects of the dermal fillers and facial muscle relaxant injectables in my face.

Volume loss around the face is part of the aging process. Facial tissues eventually thin out, cheeks become hollow, under eyes sink, and laugh lines appear everywhere… I’ve never been one to shy away from trying non-invasive ways of making my skin look younger and with as little downtime as possible (it’s for research of course! haha), and honestly botulinum neuromodulators (e.g. Xeomin, Dysport, Botox) and fillers are really effective at it.

Consultation With The Doctor

There’s always a misconception when it comes to injecting your face with neuromodulators, your face will end up looking frozen, and you’ll be incapable of having any facial expression. As for fillers, the fear is that you’d look unnatural with too much filler injected. Well, that’s why you need to go to a doctor who is experienced at administering botulinum neuromodulators and dermal fillers to avoid any risks and unpleasant surprises.

I’ve been going to Dr Terence Tan at Halley Medical Aesthetics for years now and he’s my most trusted aesthetic doctor.

The first doctor consultation is an important start to your treatment journey where you will discuss treatment areas, treatment plan and the products that will help. The doctor’s treatment technique is important in creating a natural yet effective lift to a patient’s face, so don’t be afraid to ask questions!

Dr Terence Tan

Dr Terence Tan patiently listened to my various skin concerns and his experience really shined through when he analysed my facial features to determine areas that required treatment. Dr Terence Tan pointed out that my high cheekbones would look a little too angular and the area under my cheekbones may look even more hollow and sunken in, if I were to make my chin more V-shaped. He suggested adding a bit of fillers just under my cheekbones, filling up the volume loss that he sees at the side of my face. By filling up my tear trough, nasolabial folds (i.e. smile lines), and marionette lines, I would look fresh and rejuvenated with facial volume in all the right places. This result would be natural and pleasant; people would see that I look better without even knowing that I had injectables done.

Dr. Terence Tan also mentioned that he will be injecting the fillers using the “Magic Needle” technique to rejuvenate my face and fill up the fine lines naturally while minimising pain and bruising at the same time.

It was all fascinating stuff, and I felt 100% at ease letting him help me do this treatment for me.

The Treatment Plan

Dr Terence Tan is going to use a combination of hard and soft Belotero dermal fillers to plump up certain areas of my skin and use Xeomin botulinum neuromodulators to relax laugh lines and jaw muscles to give me the jawline of my dreams.

The areas I’m going to get treated with Belotero dermal fillers are:

  1. Tear Trough (a bit sunken in)
  2. Mid Face (to give my face a better shape)
  3. Nasolabial lines (a bit sunken in)
  4. Lateral cheeks (fill up volume loss to remove harsh angles on my face for a more natural, youthful curve)
  5. Marionette Lines (volume loss)

The Belotero range of fillers contains hyaluronic acid, a natural compound found in the body that helps to hydrate and add volume to our skin and is safe for most people. Hyaluronic acid diminishes as we age, resulting in the skin to lose its volume, causing fine lines and wrinkles to form. The Belotero fillers also contain lidocaine, an anesthesia which minimises discomfort during treatment. Less discomfort yay!!

The areas I’m going to get treated with Xeomin botulinum neuromodulators are:

  1. Frown lines, Crow’s feet (fine lines) and brow lift
  2. Masseter muscles (more V shape face)

Botulinum neuromodulators like Xeomin, is the only purified injection which is free from complexing protein making the result last longer. Dr. Terence Tan prescribed Xeomin to treat my frown lines, crow’s feet (the lines at the corner of the eyes), near the brows to achieve a mild brow lift, and the masseter muscles to slim down the side of my face and stop teeth grinding (which makes the muscles at the jaw even bigger).

Next Steps

I was really excited at the agreed treatment plan and made an appointment for the actual treatment day. Stay tuned for the next post where I’ll share how I felt during and after the treatment, and the before & after results.
