BFF Challenge: Run Ju Ann, Run

Hi, I’m not overweight but I have a lot of flab to loose. I have very high body fat percentage and too little muscle mass. I may eat well, but I don’t eat regularly. I try exercising often, but I’m not always regular about it.

That’s my diet and my lifestyle, in a nutshell.

When Nicole from GLOW came by and asked if I’ll be interested to be part of the BFF Challenge (the Berry Fruity Fat-loss Challenge). It is in short, a regime that sees a power combination of proper nutrition, regular exercise, and the consumption of GLOW, the No. 1 top-selling dietary weight loss supplement in Singapore.

Glow Diet Supplement

Yes I tried GLOW before but December unveils the launch of a new updated formula containing an additional ingredient – Green Coffee Bean Extract (Svetol), in addition to the original formula containing Raspberry Ketone and other super-antioxidants. Green Coffee Bean Extract (Svetol) has been clinically proven to expedite the effects of weight loss. GLOW Raspberry Ketone (with Svetol) will be the first commercial product in Singapore containing this special ingredient come December 2012, retailing exclusively in Watson’s.

I was mighty excited to meet my fellow Glowsters on this program as well as the appointed Personal Trainer, Sederick and Nutritionist, Rachel.

GLOW Raspberry SG

Here’s one of us and Sederick. From L to R: William, Daphne, Sederick, Chloe and Me.

Sederick will be working out with us, bringing us through a series of interval/circuit training workouts 3 times a week. It’s been awhile since I did workouts under supervision. And boy am I looking forward to this! :)

Rachel is our nutritionist. She went through with us all one by one on our usual diet and gave us very good advice.

This is my usual day’s meal:

1) Breakfast
Sometimes too much milo powder with water, sometimes low fat milk and post cereals.

2) Lunch
Mixed Rice. Usually 3 Veg combo and white rice.
Sometimes Yee Mee Fish Soup Noodle

3) Tea
The occasional chocolate
Fruit

4) Dinner
Whatever restaurant I go out to
Soup Master Pork Soup + Brown Rice

5) Supper
The occasional chocolate / potato chips

Yes, there are many bad choices in there and sometimes altogether too irregular.

Rachel’s recommendation to me was:

1) Breakfast
Low Fat Milk/Plain Yoghurt + 1 serving of fruit + Whole Wheat Cereal/Bran/Muesli

2) Lunch
Mixed Rice with 2 Veg and 1 Chix/Fish + half bowl rice
or White Soupy Noodle (avoid pork/beef and other red meat)

3) Dinner
Same as above and always noting the balanced diet of carbs, veg and protein + 1 serving of fruit.

That’s actually quite reasonable a diet! I thought she was going to ask me to go low carb or something drastic! :) Sounds to me like an exciting trip to the supermarket for healthy food is due! :)
