Adding Collagen in Your Cooking!

Here’s introducing the concept that you can actually boost your collagen intake by simply adding collagen to your daily meals. Collagen always meant eating some supplements or drinking it from a collagen drink. Hardly do we like Collagen Soup, Collagen Pasta, Collagen etc etc in our breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

So it’s with much interest that I attended a recent cooking class at Cookyn where DHC hosted a bunch of bloggers to learn how to cook with DHC Collagen.

Here are the stars of the evening:

The DHC Collagen Powder ($58.50) and DHC Collagen Beauty 7000+ drink in white grape flavour ($49.90, box of 10 x 7000mg bottles).

So first up, here’s the first dish we made. Salmon Make with DHC Collagen Powder. This is soooo easy to make that I am totally going to try it again soon at home. If you want the recipe to this, msg me on FB! :)

The only troublesome part to this was having to source for the yummy ingredients that Cookyn prepared for us. Otherwise, this dish is really pretty easy to make. Cook rice, have nice ingredients (it can be salmon or unagi or whatever you like) and sprinkle on the DHC Collagen powder, then ROLL IT ALL UP.

A lot of people associate Collagen anything with a nasty taste. That’s usually true but somehow, DHC has managed to make their Collagen Powder completely tasteless. I passed these to my BF to try and he didn’t even know there was the Collagen Powder added in. LOL! Talk about an ambush that’s “good for you”.

Next up was a Mentaiko Pasta which at first sounded like a huge task but turned out pretty darn easy. But then again, at Cookyn, they prettyyyyy much prepared all the ingredients for us already!

Mentaiko pasta had complicated ingredients which I think would be expensive and not easily available. It was a very good experience learning how to make this though. Essentially if I really wanted to make this again, I can. Sourcing for the ingredients will just take a little longer than one trip to NTUC.

So anyhoo, we baked the pasta after adding all the ingredients in and wrapping it up nicely. Because Collagen cannot be heated in high temperatures, we sprinkled the DHC Collagen only after the pasta was out of the oven. It was like sprinkling cheese over the pasta, and it didn’t taste anything like Collagen at all.

At this point I was just thinking how perfect this is. I could really add so much goodness into my daily cooking without much fuss!! I have the exact recipe to this, if you want. :)

This last dish can be a breakfast or as a dessert. Either way, it’s yummy and very wholesome!

At the event, we made some other complicated dessert but I simplified it for my breakfast. This is completely easy and takes like 1 min to prepare. I used Marigold’s Non-Fat Yoghurt, fresh berries (Strawberries, blueberries, kiwi) sliced, Special K Granola and DHC Collagen Beauty 7000+.

Just layer everything together in a glass cup (cos it makes eating more enjoyable) and then add DHC Collagen Beauty 7000+ last. Super tasty and it’s also great for my diet cos DHC’s Collagen drink is low fat. You’ll be pleased to know that this is also caffeine-free and enriched with Vitamin C to increase collagen synthesis.

Easily absorbed by the body, it contains almost 50 per cent more collagen than any other similar health drinks. Take collagen for younger-looking skin.

Really, try this. It’s sooo nice! :)

**That’s the end of Adding Collagen in Your Cooking but here’s more from DHC!

♡♡ DHC Collagen Capsules ♡♡

Besides the powdered form and the liquid, DHC offers another option in the form of capsules! I honestly like capsules the best. Just pop and go. For $29.90, you get 60 tablets X 443mg. The recommended daily dosage is 6 at a time. One pack will last you about 10 days.

In just 6 tablets, there are 2,059mg of fish-oriented collagen peptide! Vit  B1 and B2 are also adding. The only drawback is having to eat not 1, but 6 tablets each day at one go! That’s quite a lot, especially if you already have other supplements to take daily.

I hope you enjoyed this entry on Collagen by DHC! :) It’s one of those few entries where my two big loves – FOOD & BEAUTY – is combined. :) ♡
